Ingredients

  • 1 part All-Purpose White Flour e.g., 1 cup
  • 2 parts Cold Water e.g., 2 cups
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated White Sugar acts as a hardener
  • 1 teaspoon Salt natural preservative to prevent mold

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the flour and 1 cup of the cold water until you form a smooth, lump-free paste (this is the "slurry").
  2. Add the remaining 1 cup of water, sugar, and salt to the pan; whisk thoroughly to combine.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon or whisk.
  4. Continue stirring until the mixture begins to bubble and thickens to the consistency of a thin pudding or smooth custard.
  5. Once thickened, remove the pan from the heat immediately and allow the glue to cool completely to room temperature.
  6. Transfer the cooled glue to a glass jar or airtight plastic container for storage.

  • Storage: Keep unused glue in the fridge in an airtight container; it will last for up to 7 days.
  • Consistency: If the glue is too thick after cooling, thin it with a few drops of warm water. If too thin, you used too much water or didn't cook it long enough.
  • Usage: For extra strength, tear your paper strips rather than cutting them for better bonding.
